Friendraising...
When donors feel engaged and respected…
When prospects are approached thoughtfully, as cherished friends who
are involved in ways other than money…
They want to give again and again, and give more significantly each time.
Over time, through consulting work and volunteer service of our own, we
have observed that three elements are key to fundraising success:
Vision
Dynamic, relevant; engages the passion
of donors, staff and board.
Leadership
Board, volunteers and
staff demonstrate entrepreneurial
energy for their work.
Program
Relevant and dynamic mission, translated into services, that attracts
the interest of the community.
A Prescription for Sustainable Fundraising
Take those three elements, add a strong fundraising program, and you
have the basics for an ongoing, viable organization with a strong financial
foundation. The links among these four are inextricable, and experience
tells us that agencies are only as strong as their weakest link.
